Search Engine Marketing: FAQ
What is Search Engine Marketing?
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is a powerful tool that allows you to target customers who are already searching for your type of product. It takes into account keywords people are using to search, and places your products in front of them. Basically, when a customer searches for a particular product, you can ‘bid’ on that keyword in order for the searcher to see your item in their Search Engine Results Page (SERP). There are different ways of doing this, including Pay Per Click (PPC) where you only pay when a customer actually clicks through to your website from the ad. There’s also Cost Per Mile (CPM), where instead you bid per thousand impressions (views).
I’ve searched for my website and it’s coming up way down the list.
We’ll analyse your current ranking and implement measures to see that it rises above the competition.
Where will my ads appear?
Ads can be targeted in a variety of shapes and sizes, search engines (be it Google, Bing, etc), and for specific devices. We can optimise your ads so that people searching on mobiles get ads displayed in a suitable format.
What’s better for me, PPC or CPM?
Well it all depends. If you’re looking to drive people direct to your site, then PPC may well be the way to go. If you’re more looking to create general brand awareness, then CPM may be more suited. Don’t worry – either way we’ll suss out what method works out best for you and apply it accordingly.
Bidding scares me – what if I go over budget?
We will agree and set a budget with you, so you have peace of mind that your SEM campaigns won’t go over your allocated budget.
I don’t have time to be monitoring ads.
Leave that to us – we’re experts at that so we’ll look after it while you focus your expertise on the business itself.
In summary, Search Engine Marketing is all about drawing in customers who are ALREADY looking for your type of product. Sounds good right? Get in touch with us and we’ll create a package at a VERY competitive rate.
